How The Mused Society came to be

Sometimes an idea starts with a business plan.

Ours started with a conversation.

Anna and Emma kept coming back to the same feeling: we wanted more.

More connection. More collaboration. More opportunities to meet women who were building something of their own. More spaces that felt inspiring without feeling intimidating.

We loved the energy of creative communities in bigger cities. The dinners, the events, the people meeting for the first time and somehow leaving with a new friend, a new idea, or a new opportunity.

But we wanted that feeling here.

In Columbus.

And honestly, we couldn't find exactly what we were looking for.

So we decided to create it.

THE IDEA

The Mused Society was born from a simple belief:

Community should feel good.

Networking doesn't have to mean walking into a room, handing out business cards, and trying to figure out what you can get from someone.

We wanted to create rooms where people could simply be people first.

Come have a drink. Meet someone new. Talk about what you're working on. Share an idea. Take a photo. Make a connection. Maybe collaborate. Maybe become friends.

No pressure to have the perfect elevator pitch.

No competition.

No pretending you have it all figured out.

Just women doing cool things and making room for each other.

WHY "MUSED"?

To us, a muse isn't just someone who inspires you.

It's someone who makes you think differently.

Someone who sparks an idea.

Someone who reminds you what's possible.

And we believe every woman has the potential to be that person for someone else.

That's what we want Mused to be.

A place where you can find inspiration, but also be the inspiration.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING

Mused isn't just an event.

It's a community.

It's gatherings that give you a reason to get out of the house.

It's workshops that teach you something you can actually use.

It's spotlighting women doing incredible things in Columbus.

It's creating opportunities for collaboration.

It's celebrating the small wins.

It's introducing people who probably should have met years ago.

And it's creating the kind of room we wanted to walk into ourselves.

SO, HERE WE ARE.

The Mused Society is still growing. We're figuring it out as we go, and that's part of the fun.

But the vision is simple:

Connect. Create. Collaborate. Grow.

And hopefully, make some really good memories along the way.
